Rose Colored Lens Foundation
I began my photography journey by trying out all kinds of sessions to find out what I loved to photograph. Bereavement (or "End of Life") sessions were never something I planned to do or the only type of photography I offer, but recent media attention of a singular session I photographed has proven that this type of photography strikes a chord with so many of you. It's something many grieving people need access to and deserve to have.
Through all of this, I was inspired to build a nonprofit organization for anyone facing the impending loss of life; somewhere that those grieving could apply for a free session to capture those precious last moments with their loved ones. Anyone can apply for a session, and anyone can donate a session.
Rose Colored Lens Foundation will focus on offering these precious, memorable end-of-life sessions to family members and friends facing terminal illness or the inevitable loss of a loved one for free. I can't—in good conscience—charge for these sessions. My goal is to be able to offer these sessions to patients and their family members in hospice centers, cancer hospitals, and birthing units at no cost. Everyone deserves to have photos of their loved ones. It helps tremendously during the grieving process, and I believe it should be a service that you can help me normalize!
Right now the nonprofit is still in the beginning stages of creation, and as such is currently seeking board members to join and qualify us as a legal nonprofit entity.
